I have a favourite jacket that, over time, had become dilapidated - with a threadbare patch on the sleeve and ripped lining. Yet the cloth, a distinctive Harris tweed, has stood the test of time and was worth 'saving'. The team at Top Stitch did a wonderful job of replacing the original lining with an exact (and much improved)) replacement. All original labels are in their former place. And the threadbare section is now back to its original state. All done in good time - despite the massive amount of careful hand-stitching required. Why buy something new when an old favourite can be retained with a little bit of expert help and a fair measure of care?
I had three high end polo shirts taken in and the quality of work was very high. Very happy with outcome. It wasn’t cheap but neither were the shirts and the quality lasts long after you forget the price as they say. Thank you Thanks again!
Very friendly shop-owner (Elaine) with great customer service :) Have gone to her many times and fixed up many complicated clothing (e.g. shortening jumpsuit from the middle). Also is willing to listen and readjust if you’re worried!
I had a suit jacket that needed the sleeves shortened. We were in Sydney for only two days. Went to Top Stitch in the late morning and they had the alterations done that afternoon. Good work and pleasant people. Plus, there are many good Chinese restaurants very close. The dumplings at the one just across the walkway, and to the left were excellent

I am the regular for Top Stitch over 5-6 years. The detailing, craftmanship are superb. Top stitch is very experienced and taking care good care to the details/ patterns on the clothes. I am 100% satisfy on their expertise and great works. On top of tuxedo, blazer, sport coat; Top stitch demonstrates their great craftmanship on my Admiral officer coat (special pattern at sleeves), peacoat, duffle coat and design brand’s special fabric.
Top stitch is definitely 1 of the finest and top alternation in Sydney.
I took my Italian high-grade leather jacket here for zip replacement - and they treated the item with such respect. Top Stitch did their best to keep the original buttons and features that may have been lost in the zip replacement. They also colour-matched the leather finish - way better than I could ask. The cost of the job was $200 and honestly worth every penny.
I have been to many tailors before and I just have one word: outstanding.
I have an unusually small waist therefore shirts never fit properly right off the rack and most tailors either never get the fit right or decide for themselves what's 'best' for me. Not here. I brought in five shirts and the lady and I painstakingly went through each one in order to get the fit perfect. Other places I've been to would have me try just one and adjust the remaining shirts based on the first.
Another highlight was the customer service. The lady was super friendly and we had a great chat. I would gladly pay double for the craftsmanship and service as even some of the cheaper shirts I brought in now look great because fit is king. Overall extremely satisfied and will be back many times in the future!
I would definitely recommend Top Stitch. They went above and beyond my expectations. I had my suit altered here as I had some damage to the lapel. I had approached other tailors and alteration places and was told they could not do it or if they could at far too high a price. Top Stitch not only did a beautiful job, they had offered many thoughtful solutions as to do what was a tricky repair, all at a very fair price. I am definitely going to be using their services again.
Outstanding! I brought in a unusual shirt that I had little hope would be able to be altered to fit me in a way that kept the original details, shape and overall look in tact and the final results blew my expectations out of the water. It's clear Elaine is highly skilled and in addition, the quality of work done across all the other garments I've recently taken to be altered at this establishment is as equally and consistently impressive. We were leaving town in two days and needed a pair of pants tailored. Elaine had the shape and left pinned within minutes and had finished the alteration by the next afternoon. Fantastic finish and incredible eye for detail.
